A Grossberg Company LLP client based in Silver Spring, Maryland is seeking a Chief Financial Officer/Controller.  This client is a well known homecare company.  Known for their integrity and professionalism, they dedicate themselves to consistently serving their customers with the highest levels of experience, knowledge, and ethics. As the CFO/Controller you will report to the President, and will be responsible for Responsible for supervising operations for the accounting team.  Some of the day-to-day responsibilities may include:

Job Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate & supervise all day-to-day accounting
  • Serve as a liaison between executives and accounting staff in implementing and managing accounting policies and procedures
  • Coordinate, schedule and facilitate the monthly closing for all entities
  • Maintain all general ledgers, and other financial records
  • Produce and review monthly operating statements
  • Supervise and manage corporate accounting office and staff
  • Reconcile all checking accounts monthly
  • Oversee payroll system, including all tax filings
  • Manage monthly corporate cash receipts
  • Conduct periodic internal audits, as needed or as requested
  • Maintain, manage and create, corporate accounting reference guides for accounting office positions to include all responsibilities, including monthly closing and statement production
  • Operate as day-to-day liaison to banks for all checking accounts
  • Coordinate interim and year-end visits and tax work with public accounting firm

Required Skills:
  • MUST have four (4) year degree in Accounting from an accredited university
  • MUST have a minimum of six (6) years’ accounting experience; two (2) years of experience in public accounting preferred
  • CPA or CMA is a plus
  • Must possess an advanced understanding of accounting principles
  • Experience in property management practices & accounting, a plus
  • Computer literacy required including proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, including intermediate to advanced Excel experience required
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and listening skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management ability essential to meet recurring, and sometimes, concurrent processing deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail is required
